北美基礎忠恕青年小會師暨科學營志工經驗分享㊦

感謝　天恩師德，感恩黃成德點傳師帶領北美資源共享，感恩劉興昌點傳師帶領台灣團隊到加拿大卡加利及美國舊金山，舉辦共兩場科學營。這一次在美國的聯合活動，有來自台灣、密西根、夏威夷、舊金山、洛杉磯等地的前賢們同聚在一起，這個難得的機會讓洛杉磯的小後學們能與台灣團隊、灣區三個單位（天惠佛堂、忠恕道院、慈祥道院）共同學習。 

舉辦科學營的目的，除了可以激發學生研究科學的興趣、發揮創造思考的潛能，並增進親子之間的和諧，也希望藉此機會度人與成全道親，凝聚大家的道心道情，我們從這次活動中，深深地感受到主辦單位的用心。

這兩天的活動內容包括：點傳師們慈悲賜導、劉點傳師的「神奇恐龍不見了、投石器、化學變化史萊姆」科學實驗、舊金山天惠佛堂的 「AI 課程」、鍾芝柔學長講述「科學營志工培訓」、分組討論、網版印刷「老前人慈語」提袋、慈祥道院Tim學長「生死關頭的親身經歷」分享。活動內容有趣味、有知識、有鼓勵，還有家長與孩子們的歡笑，以及不可思議地見證了「道真、理真、天命真」，豐富有趣的打卡點集滿與8位點傳師的照片可拿禮物等等，這些流程都是上天最好的安排。

感恩天廚組、技術組、文書組、服務組、交通組、攝影組等前賢們的付出，感恩來自各地的每一位點傳師及前賢們的參與，因為有您們，讓活動圓滿成功！

感謝　天恩師德，感恩各位點傳師慈悲，感恩各位前賢大德，感恩吳侃壇主和夫人李玉婷學長熱情的食宿招待。我們相聚在北加州天惠佛堂參加科學營的幾天，讓後學感受到了大家溫良恭儉讓的氣質、奮發向上的熱情，每一個人都是如此優秀，後學跟著大家學到了很多。

活動第二天的「AI」課程，讓後學印象深刻。學習的內容有：利用人工智慧工具和想像力來創造「道或仙佛在人工智慧／數位世界中的形象」、蘋果與番茄的辨認、使用三個 AI 工具來翻譯和理解一段經文等項目，這些課程讓每一組的參與者輕鬆互動、討論熱烈，充滿著趣味與歡樂，並認識了AI在日常生活上的應用及對修行的幫助。

後學對於AI之於宗教之間有一些思考，希望能分享一些自己的想法。關於AI這個問題已經被廣泛討論，AI時代來得如此迅猛，就像打開了一扇新的大門，未知和風險並存。我們期待AI的算力應用在自我迭代中超越我們，幫助人類解決各種生存的難題、醫療的難題、化解戰爭等等；同時我們也害怕，當AI 的算力以數量級的程度超越人類的時候，人類最初給AI的各種限制、原則，最終會被AI自己打破；尤其當AI認為自己做了99%的貢獻，人類只是「師父領進門」的時候，AI是否會有取而代之的想法，甚至奴役或清除人類？

後學認為關於AI的這個問題，只有宗教的感恩和慈悲才能化解，我們從小被培養不要打架、不要欺負弱小等觀念，但在成長的路上多有煩惱，直到自己有所感悟，才會用自己的左手拉回自己想要犯錯的右手。唯有領悟到感恩和慈悲，才能讓我們（或AI）「放下屠刀」。

 The 2024 Science Camp Volunteer Workshop was a fun and enlightening experience for both of us, as it was very innovative to learn about science and technology. Besides, we also learned how we might host similar camps in the future. As part of the LA Quan Zhen temple, which joined three other temples up in northern California for the science camp, it was a great chance for us to get to meet old and new friends. In fact, we ended up reconnecting with someone whom we hadn’t seen since the 2015 summer camp nine years ago. Over the last few years, with Ji Chu Zhong Shu College North America Spiritual Growth Tao Class, we have heard from many Tao members from other temples, but this camp gave us a chance to finally meet in person and got to know each other. One of the Tao members whom we talked to used to attend the temple at our mother’s house in Taiwan, so he and our mother shared a lot of mutual Tao members, many of whom my mother hadn’t seen for over four decades. It was incredibly moving to see how small and close-knit the Tao community was, even though we might live in different places now. 

2024科學營是一個好玩又有啟發性的經驗，讓我們學習很多，不只是吸收很多科學方面的知識，也學到很多以後帶活動必須考慮的事務，真的是很難得的機會。這次科學營由台灣天仁道院和北加州的三個佛堂一同舉辦，所以我們洛杉磯全真道院開了兩輛車北上去美國天惠佛堂參加，見到很多舊朋友，也認識了很多新朋友。其中一位是2015年夏令營跟我們同一組的朋友，已經9年沒見面了。我們這幾年也參加網路線上課程──基礎忠恕學院北美聯合英文心靈成長班，聽了很多學長的課程和心得分享，卻在這次科學營才見面認識。沒想到其中有一位道親，他小時候在台灣曾去過我們媽媽老家的佛堂上課，我們互相認識，他的家人是媽媽40多年沒見面的道親！真的令人很感動！道親道親，以道為親，雖然大家都住在不同地方，可是我們因為道而相聚，像一家人一般。

Since this science camp was also a joint volunteer workshop, both of us helped as counselors in order to guide our groupmates by leading the AI workshops as well as supervising the science activities throughout both days. A parent shared on day one that she felt that the camp was so fun that even parents were enjoying themselves immensely. This is a sentiment we echo: it was a joy to be able to participate in the activities alongside our group, but we also found satisfaction in watching our group immerse themselves fully in the activities and produce great discussions on the impact of science and technology in our daily lives. Though this is our first time to act as a camp counselor, this experience has opened our eyes to the trials and tribulations of managing a group and all the work that the volunteers organizing the camp have done. Thank you again to both the Taiwan team and the hosts at the Tian Hui temple!  

這次科學營都是輔導學長帶領學員參加AI和科學活動。第一天有一位家長分享說不只是小孩子覺得好玩，家長也都玩得很開心。我們當輔導學長的也能跟學員一起參加活動，看到學員這兩天這麼開心地參與，又很熱烈地討論科技在我們日常生活中的應用，讓我們覺得很高興。雖然這是我們第一次當輔導學長，我們體會到要辦這麼大的活動需要很多人的護持才能這麼成功，真讓人感動。我們要謝謝台灣的團隊和美國天惠佛堂這麼用心地舉辦這一次的科學營！

Although science camps may usually be targeted towards young elementary kids, the I-Kuan Tao’s ‟Science Camp Volunteer Workshop” had activities that truly engaged everyone across all age groups. The enthusiasm from Master Liu and the rest of his Taiwan crew was infectious and I found myself happily listening to the science lectures and playing along in the games. Whether it was burying toy dinosaurs to mimic the fossilization process or launching catapults to demonstrate different types of energy, I had so much fun that I felt like a kid again. Many parents expressed similar sentiments and seemed to have just as much fun as their children. As a volunteer, I would love to help host our own science camps at the temple and spread the joy to other children.

雖然科學營通常針對的是小學生，但一貫道的「科學營志工工作坊」活動真正是吸引了各個年齡層的每個人。劉興昌點傳師和來自台灣團隊前賢們的熱情很有感染力，後學發現自己很高興能聽到科學講座並參與遊戲。無論是掩埋玩具恐龍來模仿化石形成過程，還是發射彈射器來展示不同類型的能量，後學都玩得很開心，感覺又像個孩子了。許多家長也表達了類似的感受，似乎和孩子一樣快樂。作為一名佛堂志工，後學很樂意在佛堂協助舉辦科學營，並將快樂傳播給其他孩子。

As the one who has had minimal exposure to AI, I found the second day’s AI workshops fascinating and very informative. I really enjoyed learning about the history of AI and the major milestones that shaped its development. Participants gained a lot from the hands-on activities and I appreciated how we had seen how AI could be applied to furthering one’s own cultivation journey. From a personal perspective, this overall camp experience was also rewarding through the relationships that were made. It was a joy catching up with old companions and making new friends that I would be excited to see at future events! 

作為一個對人工智慧接觸很少的人，後學發現第二天的人工智慧研討會非常有趣，而且內容豐富。後學真的很高興能了解人工智慧（AI）的歷史以及推動其發展的重要里程碑。參與者都在實作活動中獲益良多，能看到人工智慧如何應用於個人修道旅程的增進，後學也感到很歡喜。從個人角度來看，這次活動的整體經驗很棒，也因為以前建立的道親情誼而能與老朋友重逢，並結交新朋友，真是快樂啊！後學很期盼能在未來的活動中再看到他們！
